ABOVE: My original book front cover idea. It depicts some of the BEFORE analogies found in the text.
The bus represents "our social vehicle" bouncing down a dangerous old road.
The old wooden bridge represents our current, antiquated economic system.
The stone building represents the irrational way we have developed the way we conduct our affairs.
The stone pit represents land and natural resources we have used unwisely in the process.
The free flowing river represents energy and opportunity we have allowed to pass us by.

BELOW: My original book back cover idea. It analogizes some of the AFTER results described in the text.
Here we have disassembled our ill-conceived structure and reassembled the components
into a more esthetically pleasing, comfortable, energy conserving living space (a home).
It includes recreational area and facilities, and trees are growing --including a few shade trees.
We have dammed the river for flood control, power generation, irrigation and recreational uses.
We are making better agricultural use of our land, --even raising some of our own food.
Wind and solar power are being used for independent sources of heat and energy.
The new bridge and better highways enable values and products to move more smoothly and efficiently.
Adequate safety fences and guard rails are in place where they are needed.
Modern communications facilities have completely replaced the old bus.
